Pretty much all gyms have been closed since March. Safety comes first but it did take a while to figure out a proper routine. Not that I had a set schedule when I would go to the gym, it was just nicer having more equipment to choose from. I get most of my workouts from Instagram or Youtube. I would do workouts randomly throughout the week whenever I had time. It took m months of trying to come up with the best schedule/routine that worked for me but i’m happy I finally have something figured out.
The only equipment I have at home are a set of 3lb, 5lb, 10lb, 15lb dumbbells and thats been more than enough. The first paragraph of this post focused more on schedules so ill share mine below, along with Instagram and YouTube accounts I follow!

So that is the main routine I follow. I like starting my week off with a good full body – its usually my longest workout. Tuesday’s I rest my body, since my whole body is usually sore. Then I like having back to back split workouts on Wednesday and Thursday – on either day, if the work out was short or I feel like doing more, ill throw in a quick ab workout. I like not having to worry about working out on Friday’s ;). Then on Saturday morning I wake up and do a quick HIIT workout, these are usually short and sweet and can last around 15 minutes and if I feel like doing more I throw in another ab workout. On Sundays another rest day to get ready for the week.
*I should have named my Wednesday workout “Lower Body” since I also work glutes and not just legs.
Some of my favorites on Instagram include:
- @oliviaostrom – great workouts, does home and gym workout. One of my favorites and I work off of her videos the most.
- @amandaa__fit – another great account! I also do her workout a lot! home and gym
- @toribusa_fit – also awesome! has various HIIT, upper, lower, full body workouts.
There are a few more accounts I get workouts from but those three are the ones i’ve been using the most š
Youtube
- @EmiWong – she has some awesome videos! that target different areas of the body. I’m a big fan of her quick 10 minute workouts that have you sweating my the end for sure!
Aside from all that, I also try to get in 7k-10k steps a day. I would go on walks during the summer. Now that its cold outside in most places, I like to watch TikTok’s (I know, weird) and walk around my house. It totally works and before I know it – i’ve been waking for almost an hour.
Best, E.B <3
